The Smart4Health Health Days were launched at the Madeira Digital Health and Wellbeing initiative stand in collaboration with the Fundação Portuguesa de Cardiologia and were conducted throughout Heart Month in May. To raise awareness of cardiovascular health, the launch of this strategic event entailed various awareness-raising actions. The importance of the population's access to their health data using the Smart4Health digital platform was highlighted. A series of lectures on heart health was also presented by Dr. João Adriano Rodrigues de Sousa (Cardiologist at Funchal Hospital) and Professor Bruno Sousa (Registered Dietitian at Funchal Hospital) at the University of Madeira.
The opening ceremony was attended by 29 participants, including distinguished figures such as Dr. Pedro Ramos (Regional Secretary of Health and Civil Protection in Madeira), Professor Ricardo Jardim Gonçalves (coordinator of UNINOVA), Professor Luís Brás do Rosário (Member of the Board, Portuguese Foundation of Cardiology), Dr. António Almada Cardoso (President, Regional Delegation of the Portuguese Foundation of Cardiology) and Professor Elsa Fernandes (Vice-rector of the University of Madeira).
