From the 20th to the 23rd of September 2021, as a result of the synergy between the Smart Bear project and the Holobalance project under the scope of the Pilot of Pilots, a team from UNINOVA was in Madeira to perform the installation of the HOLOBOX virtual reality equipment. The equipment, installed at the “Centro de Saúde de Santo António”, is a balance training platform based on a personalised virtual hologram that will train, motivate and strengthen balance at all ages, especially among the erly. This technology will allow users above the age of 65, from this health centre and others in the Region, the possibility of a personalised follow-up that involves an innovative training of great benefit based on new technologies using personalised holograms and balance exercises, all under the supervision of a trained physiotherapist.
